Baking Center

We recently moved into our new house that we built, hopefully the one that we will stay in for many years to come. It took a while for the lots to be ready to build on so we had a long time to study the plan and get it just the way we wanted. The first thing I knew I  wanted in my kitchen was a baking center.
I Hated having to haul the flour and sugar from the pantry every time I needed them and wanted to leave my Jars on the counter. I found the idea for these labels on this web sight http://www.thehouseofsmiths.com/search/label/Pantry. I designed them up and used my vinyl cutter to make them.
The Cabinet guy put in some dividers so that I could keep my measuring cups and spoons organized.
I also had him put in a lift for my Kitchen aid and the electrician put in a outlet so I could always have it plugged in.
I have cabinets on both sides to keep my cookbooks in and my cake mixes and such.

Now off to make a Christmas baking shopping list.....
Come back and I will show you the rest of my house.

Love,
Bonnie

Salvaged kindling box

I spotted this box at goodwill for $4.99 and I had my niece Ally guard it for me when I raced to get a shopping cart like people were lining up to grab it. haha..

Don't you see the beauty in this box?

After a little white paint and a few rubs of sandpaper to expose the original green underneath,
I added a stencil.

I fell in love with the hinges!

It's perfect for storing wood and newspaper....
Don't you just LOVE a bargain!

Love,
Bonnie

Upholstered chairs

I was so excited to buy these orange chairs thinking I could just make a cute slipcover for them until I got them home and they smelled really musty. So Instead of trying to shampoo them I decided to take to take out all  the foam and start fresh.
Before

After pulling out staples for days I finally got them down to the springs and wood. I painted the wood parts white and glazed it. I had to buy all new foam and batting because of the smell.

I had no idea what I was doing so I just started with the seat and then did the back and arms.

Instead of trying to do nail heads I did white gimp. I got the idea from miss mustard seeds blog, you can see it  Here.

Finally done!
Don't look to close they are far from perfect, but they were fun to do....

I love the size of them and think they will be perfect in my great room by the fireplace in my new house, and they are really comfortable to.  I still need to make a slipcover for them so they can be easily washed.
